1.what do (does)…do? What is…?询问对方的职业
What do they do? 他们是干什么工作的?
What does her brother do? 她的哥哥是干什么工作的?
What does Tom do? 汤姆是干什么的?
What is she? 她是干什么工作的?
What are you? 你是干什么工作的?
What's your job? 你干什么工作?
回答可作简略回答或完整回答，如：I'm teacher.或直接回答：Teacher.
2.Can (Could) you…?用比较委婉客气地提出问题或陈述看法
Can (Could) you show me the way? 你能给我指出那条路吗?
Can (Could) you lend me your dictionary? 请你把字典借给我用一下好吗?
Can (Could) you help me with my English? 请你帮助我学习英语好吗?
Can (Could) you mail this letter for me? 请你帮我邮寄这封信好吗?

3.Will (Would)you please+动词…?表示委婉的请求或命令
Will you please pass me the pencil? 请你把那支铅笔递给我好吗?

Will (Would)you please pass me the salt?请你把盐递给我好吗?
Will (Would)you please close the door?请你把门关上好吗?
注意：Will you…?表法请求时最好与please连用，以免误会为命令。如：
Will you try again? 你再试试行吗?(命令)

Where does he live? 你住在什么地方?

The Wrong Medicine
A farmer had a very valuable(有价值的)cow. He took very good care of this cow(母牛，奶牛)and one day when it was ill ,he was very worried. He telephoned the vet(兽医).
“What's the problem?” the vet asked him when he arrived.
“My cow's very sick,” the farmer said. “I don't know what's the matter with her. She’s lying down and won't stand up. She won't eat, and she's making a strange noise.”
The vet looked at the cow.
“She's certainly sick,” he said, “and she needs to take some very strong medicine.”
He took a bottle out of his case, and put two pills(药生)into his hand.“Give her these,”he said.“They should make her better.”
“How should I give them to her?” the farmer asked.
The vet gave him a long tube(管子).“Put this tube in her mouth,”he said,“then put the pills in the tube and blow(吹).That'll make her swallow(吞)them.”
The vet went away.
The next day he came to the farm again. The farmer was sitting outside his house looking very miserable(苦恼的).
“How's your cow?” the vet asked.
“No change,” the farmer said, “and I'm feeling very strange myself.”
“On?” the vet said. “Why?”
“I did what you said,”the farmer explained(翻译).“I put the tube in the cow's mouth and then put two pills down it.”
